St Olav Waterway – A Pilgrimage Back in Time

Friday, May 24 2019 at Novia University of Applied Sciences, Henrikinkatu 7 in Turku, Finland

The pilgrim route St Olav Waterway will be presented during an international seminar in Turku, Finland. As the seminar has both lecturers and guest from many different countries, the program will be held in English. The session is open for all interested, but as the amount of seats are limited, we will use a registration system. The entire programme and the registration will be published in February 2019.

13.00 Registration

13.30 Opening of the seminar – Rector Mikko Hupa, Åbo Akademi University
The rest of the program will consist of presentations and speeches about the person Olav Haraldsson-Saint Olav, the role of St Olav Waterway as an European cultural route, for the Finnish tourism, the linkage to other pilgrim routes in Scandinavia and Europe.

– Hans Mårten Lövröd from the Nasjonalt pilegrimssenter in Trondheim
– Ritta Kaivosoja from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture
– Björn Vikström, bishop at the Diocese of Porvoo
